December 2006 - Prayer For Prisoners International
“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers.”
Dec 2006 / Jan-Feb 2007
Dear Mission Partner,
Because you give, letters from prisoners offer more than bountiful blessings and encouragement! They tell of the touch of Christ in their lives through your gifts. Thank you for touching the lives of thousands of men and w women behind bars. Every prayer you pray and every dollar you give is invested into the lives and souls of l lost, wounded and broken people whom Jesus died for. Lives are being changed because you choose to give.
Dear Prayer Warriors For Prisoners,
WOW! It’s that time of year again! I know how faithful your ministry is to send cards to prisoners and also your quarterly Freedom Walk newsletter. I am one of those people who is fortunate enough to receive a card from you. For some of us, the only mail we receive is the cards we get from Prayer Warriors For Prisoners and everyone needs to know that someone cares. Thank you for all your prayers.
Terry, (Limon Correctional Facility)
Dear PWFP,
I received your Freedom Walk newsletter for the first time last Friday and I really enjoyed reading the wonderful things God has done for people. I have been praying for God to send Christian people into my life and so far, He’s brought quite a few. I want to thank you and your volunteers for all your hard work and for the prayers.
Sandra, Denver Women’s Correctional Facility.
Dear Craig (Volunteer Prayer Warrior),
It was around 14 years ago that PWFP came into my life. I actually met Jan around 12 years ago in a prison service in the early days of my acquaintance with PWFP. It was then that the souls of that ministry found a special place in my heart. They have always been true to the work God has placed before them and many souls have been raised to the Throne Room of God’s mercy through hearts and prayers of prayer warriors. For this, I will ever be indebted. For we are commanded to “carry each other’s burdens.” Gal 5:2
Faithfully over the past14 years, I have received cards, Freedom Walk news letters and prayer request forms from this ministry of prayer. I want you to know that I think of and pray for PWFP often and know this ministry is a labor of love, a calling of God that may only have eternal rewards.
During my incarceration, I have seen many miracles of God’s grace, mercy and love, of which I am one, the chiefest of sinners. But God’s grace has been poured out on me. God is my life, my life wrought on the cross of my Lord Jesus Christ. In Him I live, and move and have my being. That is how I live. Not every day is on the mountain top but every day is in the Valley of the Hands of the One who loves me and gave Himself for me. Amen! Never tire of doing what is just, right and fair.
In the Grip of Grace, Paco, Limon Correctional Facility
As Christmas approaches, Rick and I are rushing to prepare Christmas card mailings to volunteers who have requested over 9,000 prisoner names. Folks are eager to reach out to “Jesus in prison.” Lists of prisoner names arrive daily by mail, fax, and e-mail from Arizona, North Dakota, Colorado, Florida and Uganda. It is an exciting time around the PWFP office!
Nancy French, our beloved friend and sister, recently resigned with plans to do mission work in India. Nancy has done a marvelous job for PWFP and will be greatly missed

PWFP “card parties” are scheduled around the state and God is using this outreach mightily. It isn’t too late to plan your PWFP card party!
Newest Board members, Tim and Barb Martin, prepare Christmas cards for prisoners across the country. “I’m really enjoying this!” declared Barb, “I didn’t know sending Christmas cards could be so much fun. The Lord just keeps giving me Scriptures to write in these cards.” |
In answer to prayer, three exciting new board members recently joined us! Welcome, with us, Steven Grimo, and the Martins, Tim and Barbara. Their enthusiasm is contagious and very much needed.
Please visit the PWFP web site (prayerforprisoners.org). Tell us what you think! We value your suggestions. Thank you, North Word church in Monument, Jim Nickerson and Mission Services for making this possible. God networks His children for His purposes and praises to Him result.
On a bittersweet note, a faithful volunteer and friend, Loren Grant, recently went home and we miss him but rejoice in the assurance He is with Jesus. Loren and his lovely wife, LaVerna, have faithfully supported PWFP since the ministry began in 1987. LaVerna, you are greatly appreciated and loved!
Your prayers, words of encouragement and financial gifts are the wind beneath my wings. What a joy to soar for Jesus into all He calls us to. In Him, we live and move and have our being, for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works He prepared for us long ago.
Jan
P.S. As you consider your year end giving, please remember the major part you play in changing prisoners’ lives through your prayers and gifts. Over 6,000 prisoners in Colorado will be released next year. Together, we can make a difference by reaching them before they leave prison with prayer, the Freedom Walk newsletter, Christmas cards and prison worship services. They can find hope and salvation through Jesus Christ. Will you help me reach them?
